When the COVID-19 pandemic began, doctors were very concerned about pregnant women and how the disease would affect them and their unborn babies. Now, more than a year since the first worldwide case, the COVID-19 vaccination has apparently helped this vulnerable group stay out of hospital.


Pregnant women should always be careful about their health, but with coronavirus cases still soaring, experts around the world are asking them to consider an extra layer of defense.

Dr Vijay Roach, President of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, said vaccination against COVID-19 helps prevent situations of unnecessary risk for both mother and baby.
