The NSW government's new incentives are aimed at combating the dangers associated with gambling by linking problem gamblers with people who have experienced gambling problems.

New South Wales Gambling Minister David Harris said the incentives would be focused on using people who had life experience to benefit those currently struggling against gambling.

This was well received by advocates of safe gambling, including the mental health support organization Wesley Mission.
