India’s foreign minister Sushma Swaraj who is still recovering from a kidney transplant helped out a non-residential Indian living in US on Thursday.
Rohan Shah from Chicago on the night of 29th December tweeted to Swaraj that his father passed away in India and he needed an urgent visa from the Indian consulate in US.
Swaraj promptly directed the Indian consulate in Chicago to reach out to Shah. Within hours, she tweeted the confirmation of the issuance of visa to Shah.
The Indian Consulate in Chicago on Thursday issued visa to Shah and his two children to travel to India.
Rohan Shah thanked her and said after her intervention, the visa had been issued in 20 minutes.
