An Indian national living in Adelaide has shared details about the terrifying attack on him that broke his jaw with SBS Hindi.
Taxi driver Jasvinder Singh Uppal had just walked out after finishing his English language lessons at TAFE on 20th February when he was punched by a random stranger on the street outside Light Square in Adelaide.
The punch on his face left him with a broken jaw and has left him out of work.
The details of the attack cannot be shared as the matter is in the courts now.
Mr Uppal’s distressed wife Neeru told SBS Hindi that her husband was operated two days after the attack and is recuperating at the moment.
“But he works as a taxi driver and as he cant work, we have lost out on income,” she says.
Mr Uppal has been advised rest and liquid for a month.
The alleged attacker, a 41-year-old man was arrested on Thursday and charged with assault causing harm, and breach of bail.
He was refused bail and is due to appear in the Adelaide Magistrate’s court on Friday.
