Indian cricket team arrives in Sydney; begins their quarantine

The Indian Cricket team has arrived in Sydney and will be in quarantine for 14 days before the summer series of cricket kicks off on November 27.

India will play three T20s, three ODIs and four Tests during their two-month tour of Australia.

The Indian squad led by skipper Virat Kohli landed in Sydney on Thursday and were taken straight to their hotel for a 14-day quarantine-cum-training period.
The entire team will be celebrating Diwali in quarantine which will be celebrated across the world on November 14, Saturday.

Some team members such as Ravindra Jadeja, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, R Ashwin were accompanied by their wife and kids.
Kohli though was not accompanied by his wife and Bollywood actress, Anushka Sharma, who has returned to India following the Indian Premier League in the UAE.

Kohli will return to India mid-way through the series, right after the first Test scheduled in Adelaide (from December 17-21) for the birth of his first child in early January.
The Australian stars – Steve Smith, David Warner, Pat Cummins, Aaron Finch, Josh Hazlewood and Glenn Maxwell too returned from the UAE after the IPL.

The cricketers are now in quarantine and will join their national team’s camp from November 22.

India vs Australia 2020-21 schedule:

The international summer cricket series will commence with the three-match Dettol ODI Series at the Sydney Cricket Ground scheduled on November 27 and November 29 and Manuka Oval, Canberra on December 2.

This will be followed by the three-match Dettol T20 International Series at Manuka Oval, Canberra on December 4 and the Sydney Cricket Ground on December 6 and December 8.

The battle for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy will begin with a day-night encounter at the Adelaide Oval on December 17, followed by the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on December 26, and the remaining Tests at the Sydney Cricket Ground on January 7 and at the Gabba on January 15.
