There is a great buzz around regional migration in Australia. The Government indicates it wants more migrants to go to regional areas.
Population minister Alan Tudge said up to 45 per cent of permanent immigrants could be forced to spend a few years in regional areas.
However, there is some confusion that gives rise to many questions. Who can move? Who should move? Do the current permanent residents acquire some benefits by moving to regional areas. Which are the areas that fall underdefined as "regional areas"?
