Spyridoula Digaletou-Coutsouveli, the new head of the Ithacan Philanthropic Society

Spyridoula Digaletou-Coutsouveli has been appointed President of the Ithacan Philanthropic Society. She becomes the second female president of the IPS which was established in 1916. The first being Athanasia (Sia) Andrews in 1991. She talks to SBS Greek.


Over the last three decades, Spyridoula has served as a member of the IPS Executive Committee for 12 years. In addition, she is a member of the Odysseus Editorial Committee and the Events Committee.

Antonios Drakopoulos steps down from the role of the president which he has held since 2012 and he will continue as Vice President. Eugenia Vlass-Tsalikis continues as Treasurer and Tania Soulis as Secretary. 

A new committee member is 18-year-old Marguerite Metaxas. Also returning to the committee is Dennis Katsamas.
