A 41-year-old female driver was arrested last night in Kingscliff after allegedly returning a blood alcohol reading of 0.324 – which equates to around six and a half times over the legal limit.
Police, who were called to the northern NSW town, at about 8.40 pm Sunday, following reports of a Mazda 2 Sedan having crashed into a parked car, found the 41-year-old driver with a three-year-old girl in the back seat.
The child was found unharmed, while the woman had suffered minor injuries.
She is expected to appear before Tweed Heads Local Court on Monday 2 March and her license has been suspended.
The incident took place one day after four children were killed and three hospitalised following pedestrian crash in Sydney.
