Mr Makarios visits Melbourne: “St Basil’s” will not change its name

The Greek Orthodox Archbishop of Australia, Mr Makarios traveled to Melbourne, just days after the resumption of air travel between NSW and Victoria.

His first stop in Melbourne was the St Basil’s institution which mourned the death of many of its residents due to COVID-19 earlier this year.
His Eminence offered his condolences to the families of the victims and said we all are awaiting better days.
He also clarified, that despite the calls he has received, he is not going to consent to the name change of the institution.
