The $20,000 grant will be used towards replacing the church front doors.

The project has been flagged as a ‘much needed’ upgrade but also believed to further enhance the aesthetics of the precinct.

In a post on their Facebook page, parish representatives paid thanks in particular to Mark Coure MP for supporting the committee in securing the funding.

The Greek Orthodox Parish and Community of Kogarah has been running a series of philanthropic initiatives,
Their most recent project was a collaborative Chocolate Easter Drive, organised by the Ladies Auxiliary along with the following parishes:

  • Greek Orthodox Cathedral of The Annunciation of Our Lady, Redfern
  • St Sophia & Three Daughters Greek Orthodox Church
  • Greek Orthodox Parish and Community of Belmore and District "All Saints"
  • Greek Orthodox Parish of St Nicholas, Marrickville, NSW
  • Saints Raphael, Nicholas & Irene Greek Orthodox Church Liverpool
  • Sts Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, Newtown, NSW
The response was reportedly overwhelming, with many contributing generously ensuring that the most vulnerable of the community in shelters, homes, refuges and parks received their Easter chocolates.
