Original Pilipino Music (OPM) acts as a cultural bridge for Filipinos abroad, invoking a sense of nostalgia and connecting them to their roots.
However, the pandemic imposed restrictions, leading to the absence of Philippine artists holding concerts and leaving a void in the hearts of the Filipino community Down Under.
As, the concert scene revived, rekindling hopes for a resurgence of live OPM performances.
Here's a glimpse of the OPM artists' lineup for 2024, set to hold concerts in different parts of Australia:
Hev Abi
Hev Abi is a Filipino hip-hop artist known for his unique sound and impactful lyrics. This tour marks his milestone as the first major Filipino artist to reach one billion streams on Spotify.

Amy Reeves
2024 Australian Idol finalist Ms. Amy Reeves hails from Broome, Western Australia, and boasts a degree in singing from WAAPA. Joining her on stage are two extraordinary Filipina-Australian vocalists: Fasika Ayallew, a standout finalist from The Voice Australia 2017, and Trinity Young, who captivated audiences as a finalist on The Voice Australia in 2014.

Silent Sanctuary and Sunkissed Lola
Silent Sanctuary is a 6-piece Filipino rock band formed in Metro Manila in 2001. Known for their unique blend of rock, orchestral elements, and heartfelt lyrics. The band is known for several hit songs like "Kundiman","Pasensya Ka Na" and "Rebound".
SunKissed Lola is a Filipino rock band formed in Olongapo, Zambales, in 2021. The band gained significant attention and success with their single "Pasilyo" (Aisle), which made waves on streaming platforms and charted as one of the most successful OPM songs in the streaming era.

Coco Martin and Bassilyo
Coco Martin is a Filipino actor, director, producer, and screenwriter. Celebrated for his roles in both action and romantic dramas, he is among the most acclaimed Filipino actors of the 21st century. He will be joining the Philippine Christmas Festival in Sydney with some of the casts from "Batang Quiapo" including Pinoy rap artist, Bassilyo.

Rachel Alejandro and Hajji Alejandro
Rachel Alejandro is a Filipino singer, actress, and theater performer. Her father, Hajji Alejandro is also a music icon who gained popularity in the 1970s and 1980s with his hit songs 'Nakapagtataka', 'Kay Ganda ng Ating Musika' and "May Minamahal'.

Julie Anne San Jose and Rayver Cruz
Filipino singer and actress, Julie Anne San Jose, gained widespread recognition after competing in the reality singing competition Popstar Kids in 2005. She became one of the best-selling recording artists of the 2010s in the Philippines and further established her career with notable roles in numerous GMA primetime and daytime dramas.
Rayver Cruz is a versatile Filipino actor, dancer, singer, and host. He began his career as a child actor on the comedy show Kiss Muna. Cruz is known for his dynamic roles in television dramas and his engaging performances in variety shows.

Mr C is known as one of the pillars of Original Pilipino Music (OPM), he says that while many OPM songs have Western influence we still manage to create songs with distinct Filipino sound. This September, after more than four years of planning Mr C and the Ryan Cayabyab Singers will return to Australia to perform.

Sarah Geronimo and Bamboo
Award-winning pop star Sarah Geronimo, celebrated for her hits "Tala," "Misteryo," "Forever's Not Enough," and "Maybe This Time," will join forces with rock icon Bamboo for an exciting concert tour. They will be joined by Australian Idol runner-up Amy Reeves.

Parokya ni Edgar
Also heading to Australia is Parokya Ni Edgar, the popular Filipino alternative rock band formed in 1993. The multi-award-winning band features Chito Miranda on lead vocals, Gab Chee Kee and Darius Semana on guitars, Buwi Meneses on bass, and Dindin Moreno on drums.
Parokya Ni Edgar is celebrated for their unique “novelty” hits, including fan favorites like “Mr. Suave,” “Buloy,” “Please Don’t Touch My Birdie,” “Inuman Na,” “Halaga,” “Picha Pie,” and “Harana.”

Gigi De Lana
Gigi De Lana and The Gigi Vibes captivated Australian audiences with their debut tour. Known for her powerful vocals and dynamic performances, former Tawag ng Tanghalan finalist, Gigi De Lana and her band captured global attention during the pandemic with their viral rendition of Roselle Nava’s “Bakit Nga Ba Mahal Kita.” Their covers of classics like “Through the Fire,” “Saving All My Love for You,” and “If Ever You’re in My Arms Again” further resonated with audiences, drawing in a dedicated following.

Raymond Lauchengco

Apo Hiking Society is an icon in OPM with a career spanning five decades. Some of their popular hits include "Batang-Bata Ka Pa," "Ewan," "When I Met You," and "Panalangin."
