On Tuesday, Australia reported at least 43 COVID-19 deaths, including 18 in Victoria and 17 in New South Wales.

The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) is monitoring and reviewing reports of myocarditis (inflammation of the heart) and pericarditis (inflammation of the membrane around the heart) in younger age groups from Pfizer and Moderna.
It said myocarditis is a known but "very rare" side effect. It is usually temporary, and most people get better within a few days. It is more common in boys aged 12-17 after the second dose.
Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation is considering a 4th (winter) dose for additional groups.
Currently, the fourth dose is recommended for adults aged 65 and older, residents of aged care or disability care facilities, people aged 16 and over with severe immunocompromise and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 50 years and older.
