COVID-19 update: Tamworth enters lockdown in NSW as restrictions ease in regional Victoria

New South Wales
NSW has recorded 283 new locally acquired cases and one death. At least 64 cases were in the community while infectious. 

Tamworth will enter a seven-day lockdown from 5pm as several have been identified after a positive case from Newcastle travelled to the area.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian also calls for increased testing in the Byron Bay area, where one man tested positive to COVID-19.

Victoria
Victoria has recorded 11 new locally acquired cases, all linked to the existing cluster.

Premier Daniel Andrews announces the end of lockdown for regional Victoria from 12:01am Tuesday 10 August and warns Melbourne residents not to travel within the state without a valid reason.
