COVID-19 update: NSW extends list of essential workers while Victorian exposure sites grow

NSW has extended its list of authorised workers permitted to leave Fairfield, Canterbury-Bankstown and Liverpool
List of COVID-19 exposure sites in Victoria continues to grow

New South Wales

New South Wales has recorded 105 new local coronavirus cases. 66 cases were linked to a known cluster; the source of 39 cases is still under investigation. A woman in her 90s has died in South-Eastern Sydney.

Residents in the local government areas of

Fairfield

Canterbury-Bankstown

and

Liverpool

are not allowed to leave those regions unless they work in healthcare, emergency services or at supermarkets, bottle shops, kiosks, newsagents, office, pet supplies stores and garden centres.

From 12:01 am Monday, 19 July, all construction work and non-urgent maintenance, including cleaning services and repair work on residential premises will be paused. It is expected that this restriction will affect up to 500,000 construction workers in NSW.

Victoria

Victoria has recorded 16 new local coronavirus cases and 2 cases acquired overseas. The total number of active cases in Victoria is 70.

There are now more than 215 new exposure sites. The most recent additions are in Altona Meadows, Kew and Truganina suburbs. Residents of Phillip Island in South-East Melbourne are also urged to get tested. Find here, the

In South Australia around 100,000 vaccination doses have been delivered at the Adelaide Showground in Wayville.
