  • The first shipment of the Novavax vaccine has arrived in Australia from Singapore. The shipment contains the first three million doses of the vaccine, to be rolled out on February 21st.
  • Up to 1,700 Australian Defence Force personnel will be sent to reduce pressure on the aged care system, however advocates say it’s not nearly enough to ease staffing shortages.
  • In NSW, 44 per cent of the eligible population has now had a third dose of a COVID vaccine. In Victoria 46 per cent of adults have had three doses.
  • The Victorian government will expand its access to rapid antigen tests providing families of children aged three to five in daycare with take home kits over the coming weeks.
  • While case numbers are trending down in many states, the Northern Territory has Australia's highest rate of COVID-related hospitalisations per capita.
