Australian cricketer Mitchell Marsh is in hospital after testing positive for COVID-19 in India.

Marsh is currently playing alongside Australian T20 player David Warner for Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League.
Delhi Capitals in a statement said a few more members, including support staff members, have returned positive tests. They are all asymptomatic, but their condition is being monitored closely.
Business NSW and the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry have asked the governments to remove the current seven-day isolation period for household contacts of people with COVID-19.

Business groups blame the isolation requirements for staff shortages.

COVID-19 vaccination information kiosks have opened in shopping centres and events in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland.

Residents can get information and book their vaccination at the following centres from 18 to 24 April:

NSW – Penrith, Westfield Penrith
NSW – Campsie, Campsie SC
QLD – Broadbeach, Pacific Fair
QLD – Brown Plains, Grand Plaza
VIC – Dandenong, Dandenong Plaza
VIC – Narre, Warren Westfield Fountain Gate

The Biosecurity Emergency Determination relating to COVID-19 for Australia has lapsed on 17 April. It means travellers entering Australia don't require a negative pre-departure test, and cruise vessels can enter Australia.

Price gouging rules on rapid antigen tests have also lapsed.

However, international travellers into and out of Australia are still required to provide proof of double vaccination and wear face masks on international flights based on medical advice.

Residents in the US are no longer required to wear face masks on public transport after a federal court overturned the 14-month-old mask mandate on Monday.

Shanghai has reported three COVID-19 deaths from the current outbreak, which sent the megacity into a weeks-long lockdown. However, concerns have been raised over the accuracy of statistics.
