悉尼蓝山约80%的区域恐已被大火摧毁

悉尼大学的学者测算蓝山八成区域被大火摧毁,且因气候变化,灾后恢复难上加难。

本季的山林大火可能对悉尼蓝山山脉的某些物种造成“毁灭性”影响,生态学家担心这一世界遗产的八成区域可能已经消失。

数月来,这个标志性的旅游景点受到了Green Wattle Creek、Grose Valley、Gospers Mountain等处爆发的大火的影响。

悉尼大学环境科学专业的讲师Aaron Greenville表示,迄今为止最大的火势发生在2001年12月至2002年1月之间,当时造成蓝山25多万公顷面积被毁,而这次山火季摧毁的面积是这一数字的三倍以上。

据Aaron Greenville博士计算,自去年十月以来在该区域已被累计烧毁83.7万公顷,占蓝山世界遗产区总面积的80%以上。

他告诉澳联社:“规模巨大”,“简直好比这个世界遗产名录在大火过后被重写”。

Aaron Greenville博士补充说,鉴于山林大火在新州大部分海岸线肆虐,野生动植物也在蓝山大火中无处可逃。

同时,生态学家警告说,由于气候变化、森林大火的频次和强度增加,可能意味着蓝山等地区的灾后恢复困难得多。

悉尼大学副教授Mathew Crowther表示,蓝山山脉可能需要更长的时间才能恢复。
