"Taiwan's unification with the mainland" needs a long-term view

In a landmark speech on last Wednesday, Xi Jinping, the President of China, described Taiwan's unification with the mainland as "inevitable," reiterated China’s willingness to use force if necessary, especially if Taiwan ever declares full independence. On last Saturday, Taiwan's leader Tsai Ing-wen criticised Beijing's plan to engage in political negotiations with opposition parties rather than her government. Shen Du, host of “Zhou's Talkshow”， told SBS Mandarin that "Taiwan's unification with the mainland" needs a long-term view.
