Chinese Student wins $10,000 Scholarship at Victorian International Education Awards

Local University of Melbourne student, Kezhan Zhang was awarded $10,000 scholarships at the Victorian International Education Awards (VIEAs) on Oct 7th.


Now in its sixth year, the awards acknowledge both students and providers that have excelled in their contribution to Victoria’s thriving international education sector. 

Kezhan Zhang, a local Parkville resident was awarded the International Student of the Year Award in English Language Training for their work in demonstrating outstanding improvement and contributed to the internationalisation of their institution.

Kezhan came to Melbourne to study a Master in Management (Accounting) at the University of Melbourne. With a background in media and communication, Kezhan wanted to expand her practical skills and management theory in English. Through local work experience and being actively engaged with the Graduate Student Association’s Council (GSA), Kezhan was able to further develop her English language skills in a variety of environments. She is committed to creating spaces, especially for female students, who come to study in Melbourne without family support networks and who may struggle with adjusting.
