Voter support for Malcolm Turnbull has dropped below predecessor Tony Abbott's last voter satisfaction reading prior to his ousting as prime minister in September last year.
The Australian reports that the latest Newspoll survey shows the prime minister's satisfaction rating sits at 29 per cent, compared to Mr Abbott's last ranking as leader of 30 per cent.
Opposition leader Bill Shorten's satisfaction rating was static at 36 per cent.
On a preferred prime minister basis Mr Turnbull remains ahead at 42 per cent, to Mr Shorten's 32 per cent.
Labor has maintained its lead over the coalition for the third consecutive reading, sitting at 52 per cent for the government's 48 per cent on a two-party preferred basis.
On a primary vote reading, the coalition sits on 38 per cent, Labor at 37 per cent, Greens at 10 per cent and independents at 14 per cent.
