After nearly three years, vessels havve stopped looking for the plane in a desolate stretch of the Indian Ocean.

No current technology can tell investigators exactly where the Boeing Triple 7 aircraft is.

It's been the most complex and expensive search in aviation history- jointly funded by Malaysia, China, and Australia.

Malaysian Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai says authorities weren't able to find the plane, despite overcoming such of the difficulties involved.

"It is very difficult, unprecedented waters, and we have gone through all these difficulties and were committed to the search. So we managed to complete the hundred twenty thousand square kilometre search. Unfortunately were unable to find the plane MH370."

The plane, going from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, disappeared en route on March the 8th, 2014. 239 people were on board.

Meanwhile, nearly three years after the M-H 370 and M-H 17 disasters, Malaysia Airlines says it is recovering better than expected.

The two fatal incidents in 2014, along with other problems, helped take the carrier to the brink of financial collapse.

It was de-listed from the stock exchange, and restructured, with financial help from the Malaysian government.

But lower jet fuel prices and stronger traffic in the region have aided the airline, and it says it's now carrying more passengers and is on track to meet key performance goals.

CEO Peter Bellew says his airline will make it back from diffiiculties no one else in the industry has ever encountered.

"The fact that we will make this a success, it will be the greatest turnaround and transformation of an airline in history, because no airline has been through what we've been through."

The airline aims to turn an annual profit by next year, and re-list on the stock exchange the following year.
