EU summit: Leaders stress unity on Rome anniversary

European Union leaders warn the Europeans must contain their carping about the E-U if the Union is to survive. The leaders are marking the 60th anniversary of the Union's founding in Rome by signing a formal declaration of unity.

27 national leaders gathered in the Campidoglio palace where the six founding states originally signed the Treaty of Rome - cast in pledges of peace and unity.

E-U Summit chairman Donald Tusk says those values are just as relevant today.
