Australia government introduced a new visa scheme. The new visa now places the Temporary Work (Skilled) visa (subclass 457). Australian employers can import highly skilled foreign workers from July 1, under a new trial.
This trial will partially replace the 457 temporary skilled shortage visas that ended on Sunday, 18 March 2018.
Sydney-based Bangla-speaking migration agent Mr Nurul Huq Shibli is running EastWest Immigration Services. He told SBS Bangla that this new scheme will fill up the shortage in the meantime.
An open-ended number of visas will be issued through the Global Talent Scheme. In this scheme technology, science and engineering businesses, as well as other companies will be able to bring highly skilled foreign workers. The condition is the companies should be ready to pay staff more than $180,000 a year. The applicant should have three years of relevant experience and the sponsor companies will need to demonstrate they tried to hire Australians first.
