Ok, not technically a smoothie, but it's only one blend button away from being one. It's a refreshing iced beverage that feels a bit like eating a dessert, with layers of thick yoghurt, apricot nectar, crushed ice and pistachios.

If you want a creamy smoothie minus the cream, avocado is the ingredient you're after. This version is packed with superfoods that will keep you satiated for hours.

Packed with vitamin C from the berries, vitamin B and potassium from the banana, omega-3 fatty acids from the chia seeds, as well as fibre, antioxidants and a whole lot of other goodies. Oh, and it tastes great.

This smoothie is basically your regular bowl of oatmeal (oatmeal, dates, fruit, chia seeds, almond milk, quark), but blended. The result is a quick and creative way to take in a dose of protein and energy.

Borage leaves and flowers bring a refreshing and fragrant (and pretty!) element to this smoothie bowl. If you can't find borage leaves, try adding lemon verbena leaves to the smoothie and topping with nasturtiums, violets, or other edible flowers.

The key to this super-simple smoothie is homemade almond milk. You could try , and replace the macadamias with almonds, or leave it as-is.
